Preparing a Revival Fresh meal is as simple as making instant noodles, but because real basmati rice and slow-cooked lentils are involved, a few thoughtful practices will turn your quick meal into a restaurant-worthy experience.
1. The Water Temperature Matters Always use **freshly rolling boiled water** (approx. 95°C–100°C). Water that has cooled down in an electric kettle will slow down rehydration and leave the core of the lentils slightly firmer than intended.
2. Follow the Inner Water Indicator Every Revival Fresh pouch features a clear interior fill line. If you prefer a thicker, richer consistency (like Ven Pongal or Bisi Bele Bath), stop precisely at the fill indicator line. If you prefer a lighter, saucier consistency, feel free to add an extra tablespoon (15ml) of hot water.
3. Stir Thoroughly Before Sealing Before you zip the seal, use a spoon or fork to stir the bottom corners of the pouch. This ensures that every dry particle is coated in hot liquid before the steam begins its magic.
4. Give it the Full 5 to 6 Minutes Resist the urge to open the pouch at minute 2! The trapped steam inside the sealed foil pouch acts like a mini pressure-cooker environment, plumping up the rice grains and lentils uniformly.
5. Finishing Touches If you have access to fresh ingredients, a small spoon of warm cow ghee, spicy boondi, or a sprinkle of fresh coriander will elevate your meal into pure temple comfort.
