How Freeze-Drying Preserves Real Flavour
No high-heat boiling. No chemical preservatives. Just deep-freezing and gentle vacuum sublimation that lets food keep its original shape, vibrant aroma, and cellular tenderness.
How Freeze-Drying Works
Unlike hot-air dehydrating that cooks and shrinks food, our low-temperature process locks in cellular structure, vivid colour, and genuine Indian home flavour.
Select Quality Ingredients
We source peak-season produce directly from regional Indian growers — like GI-tagged Ratnagiri Alphonso mangoes, fresh winter peas, and aged basmati rice.

How Hot Water Revives The Dish
Because freeze-drying gently lifts out ice crystals under a vacuum, it leaves millions of microscopic tunnels through the food. When freshly boiled water is poured, capillary action pulls moisture rapidly into the very core of every grain of basmati and kidney bean.
Pure Physics, No Magic
By respecting the cellular biology of whole foods, we bring you home-cooked Indian meals that taste freshly prepared.
Freeze-Drying Questions Answered
How does freeze-drying work, and how is it different from dehydrating?
Freeze-drying (lyophilization) freezes the food to -40°C first, then removes ice crystals directly under a vacuum without applying cooking heat. This preserves the cellular structure, original shape, vivid colour, and natural flavour. Traditional dehydration uses continuous hot air which cooks the food, turns it tough or chewy, and diminishes natural taste.
Are there any artificial preservatives or chemical additives in Revival Fresh products?
No. Revival Fresh foods contain zero chemical preservatives, no added MSG, no artificial food colorings, and no synthetic shelf-life extenders. The shelf stability is achieved purely through moisture removal (below 2% moisture) and airtight multi-layer barrier packaging.
What is the shelf life of Revival Fresh meals and fruits?
Our ready-to-eat meals and vegetables typically have an ambient shelf life of 18 to 24 months, and our fruit pouches have a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored in cool, dry conditions away from moisture.
How do I know how much hot water to add to a meal pouch?
Each pouch has an explicit internal water fill line printed on the inside. You can also measure the exact water volume indicated on the back of the pack (for instance, 210 ml for Bisi Bele Bath or Sambar Rice). Pour boiling hot water, stir well from the bottom, seal the pouch zipper, and let it rest for 5 to 6 minutes.
Can I rehydrate meals using cold or room temperature water in an emergency?
Yes! While hot water produces the most comforting, steaming home-cooked experience in 5-6 minutes, our freeze-dried meals can also be reconstituted with room temperature or cold drinking water. With cold water, allow 15 to 20 minutes for the grains and lentils to fully rehydrate.
Do freeze-dried fruits need to be rehydrated before eating?
Not at all! Our Freeze Dried Strawberry, Jackfruit, Mango, Banana, and Mixed Berry are designed to be eaten dry straight out of the pouch as an airy, crispy, melt-in-mouth snack. You can also toss them into yogurt or cereal, or dip them in warm water if you desire a soft fruit texture.
Do Revival Fresh products require refrigeration before opening?
No refrigeration or freezing is ever required! Store your unopened pouches in a standard kitchen cupboard, pantry, travel backpack, or office drawer at normal ambient room temperature.
What should I do if I cannot finish a fruit pouch in one sitting?
Because freeze-dried foods naturally want to absorb ambient moisture from humid air, always press out excess air and firmly zip the pouch closed. When properly resealed, the contents will stay crisp for up to 7 days.
